[birdky] BKY: RPT- Grayson Lake 11/15 and CBC date

Things were kind of slow for the EKBC meeting at Grayson Lake this weekend, but
we did see one interesting sight.

Charlie Howes spotted a flock of 8 or 9 Wild Turkeys foraging in an open field
around Camp Webb. As we were looking at the Turkeys from across the lake, I
suddenly realized that there was a white-tailed deer grazing along with them.
It was an unusual sight to see these two species feeding together!

Some of the highlights seen around the lake:
Double-crested Cormorant
Hooded Merganser
Pileated, Downy, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers
Northern Flicker
Field, Song, and White-throated Sparrows
Dark-eyed Juncos

Our next Eastern Kentucky Bird Club meeting will be our Christmas Bird Count at
Yatesville Lake WMA. The CBC will be held on 12/15; we will be meeting at the
Shoney's in Grayson for breakfast between 7:00 and 7:30 AM before we break up
into team and head for Yatesville.

Anyone interested in participating should contact me at the e-mail address
below or call me at 859 497-0495 (evenings). Leave a message if no answer.
