[birdky] BKY: Birds on Ohio River

This morning we birded the Ohio River from Cox's Park to the Falls of the
Ohio.

Three Bonaparte Gulls and a very cooperative Merlin that perched in the tree
were at Cox's Park. Eddie was able to take several pictures of it.

The Red-throated Loon was still present at the Water Tower. While we were
looking at it a Peregrine Falcon landed on an electrical tower across the river
in Indiana.

We saw a couple of Pied-billed Grebes and 4 Coots at Towhead Island.

At the Falls of the Ohio there was an assortment of birds that included
Cormorants, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Kestrels, Pintails, Turkey and
Black
Vultures.

The storm coming through tonight might bring in more birds to the river.
