[birdky] BKY: Birds in Jefferson County

Yesterday we drove out to Chamberlain Lane in eastern Jefferson County to
look for birds in the sod fields. There weren't many birds but we did locate
a flock of about 50 Rusty Blackbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, Meadowlark, 5
or 6 Horned Larks and 4 Lapland Longspurs.

We then drove to the river to look for waterfowl. With the river being up
there were many fields with water that contained an assortment of ducks and
geese. We drove down River Road stopping at Hays-Kennedy Park, Mayfair, Lentz
Pond and Cox's Park We also made a stop at Putney Pond off of highway 42.
The following is a list of the birds we saw.

1 Snow Goose

Ring-neck Duck
Hooded Mergansers
Green-wing Teal

Great Blue Heron
