[birdky] BKY: Anchorage Trial in Jefferson County

This morning  we walked the newly constructed Anchorage Trail.  John Schnatter (Papa John) completed this one mile trail a few months ago that is adjacent to Tom Sawyer State Park in the town of Anchorage. It has a lot of diversity - woods, creek, lake, open areas as well as farm land.

We had a nice pocket of warblers including 2 Blue-wings,Cape May, Blackburnian, Black-and-white and a Wilson. Other birds seen were Great Crested Flycatcher, 2 Pewees, Cedar Waxwings, Catbirds,Wood Ducks, Mallards, Kingfisher, Flicker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, hummingbird, Great Blue Heron and other residents.

P.S. Yes, Brainard, we know the Cape May is early but it was truly there. =:o)
