[birdky] BIRDKY: Lunch for starlings

Shortly before noon today we were driving south on Poplar Level Road here in
Louisville. At the intersection with the Watterson Expressway we were stopped
by a red light. A garbage truck was exiting the ramp of the expressway and was
also waiting for the light to turn green. A small flock of starlings flew
overhead and some landed on top of the garbage truck and begin to eat their
lunch. After a few brief seconds the birds flew on, the light turned green and
the
garbage truck proceeded on its way. We were amused by the quick thinking
starlings. Do you think they recognize the color and shape of garbage trucks?
