I led a field trip to Cherokee park this am. Despite unpromising weather it turned out to be a great day birding. 5 members of the Beckham Bird Club joined me in seeing or hearing 53 species today. Full list has been submitted on ebird. Highlights include 9 warbler species and the following : 15 chimney swifts 2 ruby-throated hummingbird 2 yellow-bellied sapsucker Brown creeper FOS heard only House wren 5 ruby-crowned kinglets 15 golden-crowned kinglets FOS Hermit thrush heard only 1 N.
