Barry Hart and I started our shorebird survey under cloudy skies and rolling
thunder. We hunkered down during the worst of the storm and came out to
find birds had dropped in to offer us the best shorebird count we have had
this
season with 15 species of shorebirds seen.
Blood River, crappie hollow:

Green-winged Teal - 2
Wild Turkey - 6 males
American White Pelicans - 130
DC Cormorant
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Bald Eagle - 1 Adult
Semipalmated plover - 2
Killdeer

Western Sandpiper - 1
