I am also rather saddened that the Kentucky Warbler plate has been
discontinued. I do find it a bit ironic that some who had little problem with
the removal of Red-cockaded Woodpeckers in Kentucky are more worried about
the image of a bird on a license plate. On a positive note, if it has to be
five more years before the Warbler returns, could they cycle in another good
bird in the meantime? Possibly a Red-breasted Nuthatch? Not that I'm biased
on that account. I guess a Blue Grosbeak perched atop a tuft of Kentucky
Bluegrass might be more appropriate.
