No, I remember discussing having additional repositories per port using that project's preferred VCS, to better collaborate on ports.
+1 for keeping SVN. Git is not so well suited for migrating a full SVN repo with a structure such as ours; don't know about Hg.
François: Yes, I had git working and Niels, too. Merging my changes into their Git repo was still on his TODO list last time I checked, but at that time I had it running okay. My patches both to original and their fork should be in SVN.
