Where's the proof you had all those birds in Russell County? Anybody can
make up names and numbers. And are you sure that was a Coot? Maybe it
was just a muskrat that was swimming a little high in the water. At
least I had one photo. How many did you take?

We seem to be seeing more Coots in the area in the past few years.

Subject: [bcbirdclub] Waterfowl in Russell County
 
This afternoon, I had 2 Hooded Mergansers, 1 Gadwall, 5 Mallards, 2
Canada Geese, and 1 American Coot at Stuart's Pond.  This was the first
Coot that I've seen in Russell County.  I also saw 10 Wood Ducks along
with another 15 Mallards at the Mud Hole.
