Hi Everyone, On Sunday the doctors at the UVA hospital in Charlottesville ordered a CT scan on Sheldon. He showed some improvement after undergoing a procedure on Friday. The doctors had said, that if Sheldon's condition was good on Sunday after the scan, that another procedure would be performed on Monday. That did take place yesterday. This time the surgeons had to do invasive surgery that they had tried to avoid, in order to go in and remove more necrotic tissue. During this operation Sheldon once again went into cardiac arrest. After he was stabilized the operation proceeded without any more complications. Orpha called yesterday to tell us that Sheldon was doing well after the operation, that he was on a ventilator, and that he would have to be on the ventilator for 3 days. Sheldon has now been hospitalized for 43 days. I received another call from her a few minutes ago. It seems Sheldon's condition has deteriorated since last night. His body is retaining a great deal of fluid. He has pleurisy in both lungs. His kidneys are only working at about 50%, and he now has septicemia. He is stable at the moment, but the doctors told Orpha, that Sheldon's recovery will depend now on how hard he fights to live. It does not look good. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
