Hi All, Several migrants passed through the yard here on the mountain yesterday. A female Black-throated Blue, a male Hooded, A Tennessee, 3 Worm-eating and 4 Yellow-throated Warblers came into the stream to drink and bathe. They were joined from time to time by at least 6 Scarlet Tanagers and a couple of Red-eyed Vireos. Lynda was surprised to look out the kitchen window and see a female Baltimore Oriole attempting to drink from the hummingbird feeder. I later put out some orange halves and even though we saw 3 more Baltimores in the yard, none ever ate from them, at least while we were watching. At one point a male Baltimore Oriole and an Eastern Kingbird were both in the stream at the same time. Later in the day a Sharp-shinned Hawk flew into the yard and put all the birds into high gear, but it soon moved on and normal activity resumed. Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt
