The answer to B is:
In outlook express, select options from the tools menu, and tick the box which says always go to my inbox folder. It should be the first control you hit when you get into the options dialog.

A.  Go into Tools/Folder Options in Win Explorer.

Make sure,   open each folder in the same window is ticked.

B.  Not sure on this as it sounds like a focus issue with your
screenreader.

All:

I have nearly completed the commissioning of my new PC, but a couple of
small issues.

a. when I have progressed through a folder tree, pressing alt-f4 takes
me back to the previous level rather than the root - where do I find how
to alter this?

B. when calling up Outlook from the desk top, it opens in a different
window, leaving me in a blank screen.
How can I amend this?
