If you want to shrink a photo but have no software installed that can do it, as
a tip you can use
outlook express!
Simply highlight a picture or group of pictures, then press the application key
and choose "send to,
mail
recipient".
If you're an O E user a dialog will come up asking whether you want to keep the
original sizes or
make the pictures smaller. Choose to make them smaller. When its done
simply save the
attachments from that message to a new folder & you are done.
O E has converted them to much smaller (file & physical) sizes for you.
For more options you'll need a graphics editor program, the best free one IMHO
is Google Picasa.
http://picasa.google.co.uk/
You can open any picture in that program then choose file menu, export.
Then in that dialog you can set the exact output size of the exported picture
in pixels, as well as
it's format.
