Hi Alan,
If the fan has stopped, do turn off your PC to avoid further
damage.
The heat at the back top of the tower suggests this may be
the main power supply, and especially if the mains cable
goes into the upper rear of the case.
It is difficult to say how easy it might be to replace. The
fan may be an integral part of the power supply, even though
replaceable.
George.

Subject: [bcab] possible fan problem
Hello folks
when I came to boot up the other day, there was no sound
from the tower,
there was no sound of the fan as usual, and there seemed no
sign of
activity except that there was a slight heat at the top back
of the tower.
I am just assuming that the fan has gone, although it could
be something
else. If it is the fan, are they easy to replace?
cheers
Alan Michael Rayner
