[bcab] out box and delete problems

hello folks
yesterday i attempted to send and attachment that turned out to be too large
for my isp account. the email is sitting in my out box, and outlook express
will not respond to deleting it, in fact as soon as i open the out box and
focus on the email, my machine goes into suspended animation for at least a
minute before i get any response from hal.  as a precaution, i unchecked my
option to send and receive messages at start up, and can receive messages
manually via tools menu.  however, i am now unable to delete any messages,
and i even tried to block one without success.  i have obviously corrupted
something in outlook express.  any thoughts on how to resolve the situation
and get rid of the offending email would be appreciated.  i am having to use
a laptop to send this message as a backup.
