Hi,
I'm quite supprized that they have not made efforts to ensure that
their online training matterial is accessible, asdies anything else
their not doing this shows a quite wild disregard for the current
legal statis in the UK as regards provision of education.
I work fairly extensively with online educational matterials, as part
of an European project, and also within the company I work for. There
really isn't a simple answer without seeing the specific platforms and
technologies they are using; SCORM packages are often inaccessible;
but if designed well they can be made accessible; the same is true of
Flash content which is also used pretty widely.
Personally I'd suggest you oughta contact the disability support
service at the University, and maybe try to get to go along and
actually have a go on some of their training matterials to see waht
they're doing with it and how easy and accessible it all looks...
Of course if they're interested in making it accessible I guess they
could find a few people on this E-mail list who might be interested in
'helping' them.., Providing they're willing to pay of course.... /:
