[bcab] Re: help needed obtaining a serial to USB connectivity cable

Hi Alexander,

We used to have one of those printers, so I am talking from
experience. And we did run it USB.

The USB port is on the side. You do not use the large 25 pin one on
the back.

I'm 95% certain it is a standard USB printer cable, but the unit is so
small and light, you could take it along to any reputable computer
supplies shop.

George.

cable

Hi George,

Thank you for your reply, however, I do not believe I have
kept the manual for my BJC85 printer, but on taking a close
look at the printer itself, I can not find any USB slots.
Please also note that I have had this printer since the year
2000.

As I stated in an e-mail in reply to Phil Medway, the end of
the cable which needs to connect to the computer has a male
plug, so maybe I do need a different type of converter as he
suggests. If so, I am wondering where I might obtain such a
converter.

Thank you in advance for any further advice.
