Alexander while indeed I am not George, I still say Maplin is a good place for such cables and you can look them up on-line also.

Thank you for your reply, however, I do not believe I have
kept the manual for my BJC85 printer, but on taking a close
look at the printer itself, I can not find any USB slots.
Please also note that I have had this printer since the year
2000.

As I stated in an e-mail in reply to Phil Medway, the end of
the cable which needs to connect to the computer has a male
plug, so maybe I do need a different type of converter as he
suggests.  If so, I am wondering where I might obtain such a
converter.
