thanks Martin. I'm not sure the people in my PC World could tell me where the
toilet is, let alone how to do anything with the PC but thanks anyway. As I
said in my previous message, fn function 11 key does the job. I then disabled
BlueTooth from device manager as I doubt very much I will need it often and if
I do want it I can always turn it on again.
In fact, I think you can control all this from the fn plus function 11 key. it
cycles through all possible combinations I think.
Cheers
Graham

Hi Graham
All reviews of the machine say that wifi is included. Maybe just pop in to PC
world and ask them how to turn it on, should you do this I wish you the best of
luck.
Thanks

Subject: [bcab] first impressions of Advent 4211
Hi all.
Well I purchased an Advent 4211 today and put JAWS on it. It seems to run OK
and the installation of XP looks fairly standard. JAWS seems to work OK but
have not yet installed any larger programs such as Microsoft Office.
I do have one question however. It is my understanding that this computer has
both WiFi and Bluetooth. I can find Bluetooth but not WiFi. the computer says
there is no wifi adaptor and to make sure that the WIFI is turned on. The PC
World site is rather vague about whether there is WIFi or Bluetooth. The
online manual looks at first glance at least to be a generric document
explaining things like keyboard, system unit, sound card etc. but this could
apply to desktops or laptops, it is not model specific. So, if anyone can tell
me whether in fact the Advent 4211 has WIFi and if so how to turn it on I would
be greatful. It would seem rather odd for a PC specifically designed for
networking on the move not to have WIFI connectivity and if WIFI is not
available I will certainly return the unit to PC World.
Regards
Graham
