[bcab] Re: conflicts between software

Hi Richard,

There are a number of flavours of Works but if your friend is using one
which incorporates a true version of Microsoft Word, there is some hope.

Please feel free to give your friend my contact details which you can
find at the bottom of this mail, however, I would be grateful if he used
my home E-mail address instead of the office one. The home E-mail
address is:
philmedway@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Save money and paper - do you really need to print this email?

Subject: [bcab] conflicts between software

Hello folks,

I hope this is not regarded as off topic, because it is a request for
information to help someone who does not use a screen reader.

My friend has a machine running xp and uses Works, because that is the
wp he has used for ages, and doesn't want to re-save all his historic
files.

His wife has recently taken on some work and has been provided with
Office 2007. It is claimed that this is now affecting the use of Works,
by changing the suffix on files saved by Works to a doc suffix, which
Works cannot then pick up.

Does anyone know whether there is any absolute conflict between this set
of software and whether there is anything which can be done.

I don't propose to be a go-between if this is going to get protracted,
so an indication as to whether you would consider dealing with this
direct with my friend would be helpful.

Thanks,

Richard
