[bcab] Re: advice required on moving the contents of a folder from one computer to another

Hi Alexander,

that they were all copied over before actually deleting them
from my laptop machine.

Why? Let us suppose you have copied over a folder
containing 150 Word files, for example, all you have to do
is open one or two of them on the destination machine, and
it's a fair assumption the rest will be OK.

If you are copying complete folders, another suggestion is
to go to each machine, right click on the folder, and select
"Properties" from the menu. You will then be told how many
files are in the folder, how much disk space they have taken
up, and exactly how many bytes the comprise of. Provided
the figures agree, it's a 99.99% certainty that all the
files are intact.

That is not more than a sighted person would do.

George.
