[bcab] Re: advice required on moving the contents of a folder from one computer to another

Hi Alexander,

Provided you have read and write access to both system's
drives, it is no more difficult to copy or move files and
folders that say if you had a C: and a D: drive in the same
system. Or even if you were to copy files to a floppy drive
or a pen drive.

I would however recommend that you do not use CUT and paste,
but rather COPY and paste. That way you lessen the risk of
deleting your original files accidentally.

George.

Subject: [bcab] advice required on moving the contents of a
folder from one computer to another

Hi all,

As some list members will be aware, I now have an HP desktop
machine running
Windows Xp pro as well as an Acer laptop running XP home.

Both the computers are on my network, and can see
each-other, but I wish to
move some data from D:\My Documents on the Acer Laptop to
C:\My Documents on
the HP desktop.

Considering that the data I wish to move is a mixture of
folders and sub
folders, I would be interested to know how easy this would
be to accomplish
without sighted assistance, although I would not try to
accomplish the
transfer of the data on my own, unless I have to wait a long
time for the
Sighted help, as although I do have some useful residual
vision, and I have
Supernova Access software on both machines, I would feel
hesitant about
doing such a large transfer of data myself without help, but
I am sending
this message encase a situation arises where I need to
transfer the data
before Sighted help is available.

Thank you in advance for any help.
