thanks Mel.
This is one that does tend to come up from time to time. It seems that a lot
of schools in the southeast are using SIMS for sure, usually for collecting
registry information. Hopefully this latest version will be more accessible
but don't worry I'm certainly not holding my breath!
Cheers

Hi Graham,
Its me that has talked about SIMS on this list in the past. During the next
few weeks I will be looking at the latest version with JAWS 10, but up till now
it has been very inaccessible.
Capita have been completely disinterested in my particular case as I am not an
end user so they don't see me as priority, even though I'm supposed to support
the use of the software in schools.

Subject: [bcab] accessibility of SIMS software in schools
Hi all.
I think this one has come up on the list before but does anyone know if the
SIMS (Schools Information Management System is any more accessible than it used
to be?
I know that a number of people have approached Capita the company that
produces SIMS but the response from that company has not been positive.
Is there any responsibility on Capita's shoulders to make future versions of
SIMS accessible or would this be considered an unreasonable expense while the
life cycle of the current SIMS software is ongoing?
Regards
Graham
