[bcab] Re: Word 2007

Hi Richard,

I pity the poor sighted guys who have to use Word 2007.

However, tell them to look at the ugly circular icon that
looks like a bad plumbers pipe work, top left corner of the
Word screen, and click on it.

A more conventional list will come up, one of the items
there being "Save As" - Note the "As", not just "Save" -
click on that.

A "Save As" dialog will come up.  Underneath the File Name
text box is a list box called "Save as Type".  Right click
on arrow at the right hand side of the list box, and from
the list, 3rd item down is "Word 97 - 2003 Document
(*.doc)".

This will then save the file with a .doc extension.  Make
sure they send you that file, and not the .docx one.

over to Word 2007
and send files with docx.

I believe that as with earlier versions of word there is the
option to use
other file types, but I don't know how to help them find the

These are mainly sighted people, so if someone could let me

instructions to follow, I can pass this on to them.
