[bcab] Re: Word 2007

Tim, I can't see any advantage at all in going for Word 2007. I've got it, simply because my old Office 97 started not to work properly on XP. I just pretend it's not 2007, and carry on with all those keyboard shortcuts I can remember from before. It's slow, cumbersome, and pointless, but there it is. For simple word processing that can be done in RTF or older DOC formats, I often use Jarte from www.jarte.com. At least it doesn't have a dang ribbon.

Subject: [bcab] Word 2007

Hi Listers. I'm configuring a new machine and trying to decide whether it's worth forking out for a licence key for Word 2007. It doesn't seem very friendly. Is it wright there are no drop down menus as with earlier versions of Word, I can only find pages and controls to tab between. The Word count button doesn't actually yield me a word count. It just presents an Include footnotes check box and a close button but no figure for the number of words. Is this right or have I just not got it set up right? In short, Word 2007 seems less accessible than previous versions. Have other people had that experience?
