[bcab] Re: Why would messages be deleted from a folder when compacting in outlook Express 6?

Hi Alexander,

A copy of your pre-compacted mail store should be in the
Re-cycle bin.

I'm out of time right now to search, but I do know there is
a way to restore your messages using the .BAK file in the
Recycle Bin.

Subject: [bcab] Why would messages be deleted from a folder
when compacting in outlook Express 6?

Hi all,

I am running Outlook Express 6 on an Acer laptop which is
also running
windows XP home edition and Supernova screen reading and
magnification
software.

I tried to compact messages today and somehow, all but one
of the messages
in the folder I have set up for this list, have been
deleted. Also, the
compacting process crashed, and when I selected to send an
error report, I
think one was sent, but I was not taken to a site to fix the
problem, as I
expected, instead, I was taken back to the desktop.

Can anyone tell me what is going on please.

Related to this, is there a way of downloading messages from
the archives of
this list to replace the ones I have accidentally deleted?

Thank you in advance for any help.
