Rosemary just seen your Post as had line washed out Yes you are right. They
did ask me to stand as Patient Governor but I knew at this stage I could not
take it on however I am going to send your Post to those at Moorfields who
will be interested and to my personal Representative and wait for it
although Prof Alan Bird Bird is retired he is still doing valuable research
currently he is in south Africa he shot into Moorfields for a couple of
hours Jean Grey emailed me, Prof Bird keeps in touch with me and I do know
he even in retirement likes to be kept up to date. In a couple of months he
has been to the Scripps Institute in San Diego New York Boston Singapore
and is now in south Africa. do you know they did not even put his
retirement in the Patients news letter the year before last! Many would
like to have wished him farewell. last years voting system was so poor by
the time we got our voting papers off it was too late the Ballot Box was
closed.Moorfields blamed the Company they delegated the job to, that
Ballot box has to be locked at the dot on the due date. sorry for the
moan

Agree absolutely!
But then, this is Moorfields we are talking about.
They can't even be arsed to make their annual meetings
accessible to people with vision disabilities, so what do we
expect? In general, it seems, the establishment has a
reputation for some grand scientific/medical research expertise,
but their treatment of the (tax-paying) user base lags a long
way behind. They think that the Social Model of Disability
means installing wheelchair ramps!
