What have I done to Word?I'm not sure if this is the problem but you could try
turning off the check spelling as you type. I think this puts squiggly lines
under the misspelled words, which might effect the way that Jaws works.

Subject: [bcab] What have I done to Word?

Hi All,

I've been reviewing lots of documents recently using the track changes
functionality in Word. I haven't got a clear idea of how this works, so I
switched on the Track Changes option in the Tools menu, the Mark-up option in
the View menu, and also the Review toolbar. This all worked really well, but
now, I think I've turned off all this extra stuff, and just want to edit a
document, Word is reacting really slowly to information I'm typing. After the
first few characters, JAWS ceases to echo, and takes several seconds to resume
once I stop typing. I also notice that there are gaps of more than one space
between words on my Braille display.

Can anyone think of anything I might have upset by changing all the change
tracking options in this way?

Many Thanks and a Merry Christmas to all.
