Hi,
I have fixed this now. All it took was to switch off the option to play
flash movies in the JAWS verbosity settings. I am not sure when I would
want to ever play flash movies but I guess I haven't come across the
situation yet.
Another irritation solved...onto the next one...

Sorry, couldn't replicate your problem here. I'm using NVDA, and having
found the heading for the article, I found I could down-arrow line by line,
or just press Insert-Down-Arrow and read the rest of the article. The
writing is a bit strange and repetitive, I found, and I did wonder if the
screen reader was jumping for a moment, but it wasn't.
