Brian - U3 apps only auto start if the application is u3 compatible and 
runningon a u3 stick. None of the applications we've been talking about here 
other than system access (but not sa to go) is u3 compatible.
Can't recall the name of any specific usb auto staro utilities off the top of 
my head but a google on "auto start _usb drive" should lead to several.

I thought the U3.exe program being present on the USB drive ensured the program 
specified somewhere or other on the USB drive would auto run.

You said a detection client is required on the PC.  What is the name of a 
typical detection client that would run on the PC?

I really don't know much about U3.exe other than I disabled it on my Sandisk 
Titanium series Smart drive.
