[bcab] Re: Update for I.E.7 Glyche

thank you Charles. Since the Computeractive thought it was important the fix or download I thought so too. I know several friends not Vip who could not cope with I.E.7 and took it off. Additionally reading this list I read quite a few posts to the effect they had not only removed it but taken off Jaws 8. Oddly enough I downloaded I.E 7 before putting on Jaws 8 and did not have problems. Of course I do not do anything fancy on the Web I am not good enough. Re updates on my laptop it said "windows updates turned on" it did not on desktop. I went into Microsoft and found a huge Website with a large amount of things all to benefit my computer Overwhelmed by this huge shopping list I chose basic and at some point I was offered a print out of my updates. It appears to be a list of all the updates I have had in some months.. Anyway I think it is Ok. In the computer asked me to choose a time to receive updates. I tried typing in a time but that part did not seem to work.Should I simply for example type ten pm or 10.pm or does it not matter, can I type anytime? Sorry to sound dumb but it would be helpful to know what others do Dorothy Ps I have writen time in this Email in letters and numbers for anyone who cannot see at all. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charles Crisp " <charlescrisp@xxxxxxx>

Hi

Fishing filter may slow the loading of an unknown page but with regular
pages it is not a problem.

You can still check for manual update by going to tools and selecting
'Windows 'update ' from the list.

Kind regards

Subject: [bcab] Update for I.E.7 Glyche

Thought I would post this in case some put on I.E 7 and had problems which you were not happy wit. One was a slowness of the system This was caused it
says in an article I have just listened to by the Computer Active Mag. It
seems that the pfishing Shield" one of the best selling features in I.E 7
the new browser which flags up fraudulent Websites that try to con Consumers

out of their personal details" well it seems it has been found to cause a slowness of the system if using Windows. Microsoft have brought a Patch for it now. so if you put I.E 7 on and took it off as you felt it dragged the
system down, maybe the Patch will cure it. I am wondering as I have the
system set Windows Updates automatically if I have it or not Is there a
place to look on the computer to check any update that came in Thanks
