[bcab] Re: USING GUIDE WITH PAYPAL

Hi Wendy and All,

Before we drop the subject I wanted to clear up some confusion on my
part. My mother uses Guide, purchased as far as I remember some time
last year. It does have built in web browsing, which to me appears to
work pretty well. It has 2 separate modes of browsing, text only, and
full web pages. I haven't tried to do anything very complex with it,
and certainly not anything as advanced as internet shopping, but this
version of Guide didn't require the installation of Webbie in order to
permit web browsing (though its possible this happens transparently
"under the hood".

I agree that it isn't a replacement for a fully fledged screen reader
where this is what's required, but for the target market, it appears to
me to do a prettty good job.

Regards,

Tim Pennick
