[bcab] Re: TNAUK rules!

Derek
There is also the opposite consideration that by allowing someone else to
hear an interesting article, it may encourage the other person to take up
subscription. The way I see the copyright thing is that if you are not
profiting by passing on things to someone who may benefit from some
knowledge in the article, you need not have too guilty a conscience.

Iain says

"The obvious difference is that when a newspaper is passed from one person
to another there is still only one copy of the newspaper."

Yes but the news paper company has lost out because lower sales.
This I think maybe the issue with TNA in that if we pass the files on,
we are discouraging others from paying the TNA subscription. why pay £40
if one can get the files for free from those that are subscribers.

Does RNIB have a similar rule for those that use the talking book
service. Is one allowed to pass talking books around?

Oh and is passing on TNA files really any different from
scanning printed books, and passing on what one has scanned!
