Hello Mel
A first procedure that often works when drivers are corrupted (whic can
cause all manner of strange problems) is to do this.
Switch the machine off.
Disconnevt the power line.
Press the power on button for 5 seconds or so. This will remove any
battery-backed cache settings.
Reconnect power.
Start in safe mode.
If it sems to be OK then suspect driver corruption (but only suspect!)
Shut-down and restart normally - it will boot more slowly as driver caches
are re-loaded from the disk.
HTH
Tony
