Hello Steve
This can be useful if Windows is still running, the hard drive is in working
order and full image restore is required.
Personally, in the two occasions where I had to restore my system from
scratch, the hard disk had to be replaced so a (non talking) bootable CD was
the practical option.
Regards
Isaac

Hi Tom,
Norton Go Back is more accessible, because you can do everything in Windows.
You tell it what you want, then hit apply, it reboots your machine and gets
on with it.
All the best
Steve

Tom
Can you give us the link for this product. I have been looking around but
can't find it.
I have found one called Perfect Image, and wonder if anyone else uses it.
The URL for this one is:

Hi Peter,
Must have missed your last subject!
I like Terabyte, image for windows. £24 and dead easy to use. You can back
up the lot to an external hard drive. Not sure about older windows versions.

Subject: [bcab] Software help
Hi All,
For the first time ever in living memory, a question to the list has gone
entirely unanswered for a whole day. I thought maybe the subject-line might
have looked uninteresting, so have changed it in hopes that somebody might
have some thoughts.
My main question is: what is the best software to use to make an image of a
hard disk, in order to keep all system files, registry and
so-on intact? The one I know about is Norton Ghost, but I remember
there were doubts about accessibility, so any other contenders?
As a supplementary point I really need it to run under Windows 98, so would
either need 98 support, or an older version.
Can anyone help with this please?? Pretty please???
Best,
Peter
