[bcab] Re: Secure/private flash drive

Thanks for that Tristram. From what I can see AxCrypt allows you to
encrypt individual files, whereas what I would prefer is a way of
passwording a folder or drive so that nothing on it can be accessed
without the password, but after entering one password, everything can be
accessed. One nice feature of the data traveller secure is that if the
wrong password is input 10 times, the drive is automatically formatted;
unfortunately while a sighted user gets notice that they are approaching
this limit, the screen readers I tested didn't read it out.

You might want to have a look at AxCrypt which is designed for portable
use especially:

I'm trying to identify a pen drive that comes with privacy software, so
that you can set up a password without which the pen drive contents
cannot be accessed. I've come across a few of these, but none which
don't have greater or lesser issues when it comes to keyboard use. I'm
wondering if anyone has any thoughts about a good candidate for further
testing?

Please note that this needs to be software that lives on the pen drive;
I'm not looking for something like TrueCrypt that allows you to encrypt
information and then place it on the drive.

If anyone is a guru on these devices, I've looked at the Kingston Data
Traveller Secure Privacy Flash Drive and thought it was very nice except
that some of the features aren't accessible with the keyboard. If I
could come up with something like that, but fully keyboard accessible,
I'd be happy.

Cheers,
Steve
