[bcab] Re: Ripping yarns

Thanks all,

Jonathan, it worked! Alan, I'll go get Goldwave soon, and see how I get on
with the editing facility.

Best,
Clive

Im WMP, simply go to Tools Options, then the Ripping tab. Set the options
you want here.

Stick the disk in and hey presto - it will spit it back out after it's
ripped. I'm not sure what playlists have to do with this, nothing I suspect.

The Ripping tab allows you to choose file and track name formats as well as
set where albums/tracks are aved.

Once you've set these options, ripping is automatic. Hope this helps.

  Jonathan

Goldwave is a very user friendly little sound editing program with a
ripping facility. You can save in mp3 or loads of other formats. It
has some very useful help files to get you going. You can download a
  free shareware version from
  www.goldwave.com

  Hi all,

I have Nero and Windows Media Player on my PC. Please can
  someone tell me:

  1. what are the keystrokes I need with either of these
programmes, to rip tracks from my commercially purchased CD's and
convert individual songs to MP3 formats for sending on to other people.
Don't worry, I'm not asking for help to break the law here. I need to
know how to do this as part of my work on plugging the existing guide
Cats CD's and in compiling the next volume.

  2. If neither Nero nor Windows Media Player will enable me to do
this, what additional software will I need, and how do I get it?

Note: I've grasped how to do the process the other way round -
take an MP3 file or files and burn onto a CD for standard audio CD
players, but the first time I tried ripping, I ended up with a CD
containing a file with nothing in it, and called D__ - which was no good
  to man nor beast.

  Best,
  Clive
