[bcab] Re: Re Articles for the Blind

I sent a talking video recorder by AFB. I took it to the sorting office to
make sure that it was ok to send and it was cleared. I printed up the label
on my computer, following the colour codes that George mentioned earlier in
this thread. The video was received the day after.

So, I believe that talking products are also covered by AFB.

Cheers

Barry

Subject: [bcab] Re Articles for the Blind

Hi folks

I have dug out a file from what I take to be an official source, which my
wife downloaded and mailed to me back in February 2000, listing the precise
nature of items which can be sent as, "Articles for the Blind".
This may, of course, have been superseded since then but here is the text
anyway:

"VALID ITEMS TO SEND MARKED "ARTICLES FOR THE BLIND"

talking books, talking newspapers and related equipment

games and card games for the blind

        mathematical devices for the blind

watches clocks and timers for the blind

tools designed for use by the blind

        aids for the blind

measuring equipment designed for blind people

        stationary supplies for blind people

        collapsible walking sticks

        guide dog harnesses

metal plates for producing materials for blind people

computer disks prepared for blind people

Packages should be left open for easy inspection"
