[bcab] Programmes not always closing down properly

Hi List,

I'm currently using Office 2000 (service pack 3), XP and JAWS 9.
I hope someone can explain the cause and possibly suggest a remedy for the
following problem.

After finishing working in Word, having closed documents with Ctrl+F4 and
closed Word with Alt+F4, when I go to turn off the computer I am asked if I
want to save one or several documents that are still open. I select No and
Tab to End programme now. It doesn't happen every single time I switch but
in about 90% of the time.

Now a similar thing has happened after being on the web to view my bank
account.

I carried out the tasks I wanted to do and went to the Log Off button and
pressed Enter. JAWS said "You are now logged off Internet banking".

I pressed Alt+F4 to close Internet Explorer 7. I checked the Task Bar and
JAWS was the only application running and went to have some lunch.

When I came back to the computer and press the Windows key a message
appeared on screen and I was told:

"You have exceeded your time out limit on Internet banking and need to log
in to your account again"

This was despite having received conformation (as stated above) that I had
logged off and closed Windows Explorer..

It seems to me that the Alt+F4 combination is not working when I sometimes
try to close a programme down. Is this possible?
