[bcab] Please cast a vote for RNIB and accessibility today!

RNIB has campaigned for better access to the internet for blind and
partially sighted and other disabled people since 1995. Our Campaign
for Good Web Design, co-ordinated by Digital Policy Development Manager
Julie Howell has made businesses more aware of the importance of
designing their websites to be accessible to disabled people.

Now Julie has been nominated to receive a 'lifetime achievement' award
for leading this work in the 2006 Imperatives Digital Awards.

Julie's name appears on a short list of six industry experts. The
public will vote to decide the winner.

You can support RNIB by casting a vote for Julie to win this award.

To be eligible to vote you must subscribe to Net Imperative's weekly
newsletter (you can unsubscribe when you have cast your vote, if you
wish!). Please visit the following webpage and follow the instructions
on screen to subscribe to the weekly newsletter. Please do this on 29
September (TODAY).

Julie says, 'On behalf of RNIB I am absolutely thrilled to receive this
nomination. Together with colleagues in our Web Access and Digital
Access teams we have worked tirelessly to push accessibility up the
agenda for businesses. Recognition of this kind is more than I dreamed
of and is extremely good news for the accessibility movement. If we win
this award we will have even more opportunities to spread the
accessibility messages to where they most need to be heard. I am very
grateful for your support.'
