CONTACTING THE WORLD, WHILST THINKING OF BCAB



It's that time of year again - my annual call for cash!



The British Computer Association of the Blind's (BCAB) EyeT4All project aims 
to increase access to IT for vision impaired people. Please visit

I'm seeking sponsorship for my entry in this year's CQ WW CW amateur radio 
contest which will take place over the weekend of 24 - 25 November. The aim 
is to contact as many stations in as many countries and zones as possible on 
each of six frequency bands.



I'm proud to announce that, last year, I was the winning station in the 
single operator, all band, high power category for Scotland, with an 
accredited score of over 868000 points.



I'm improving my aerial system, so we should be making a bigger noise than 
last year. The million points (a long sought goal of mine) seems to be a 
real possibility.



Please spread the word around friends, families and colleagues. We raised 
over £1100 last year, so let's hope we can do even better this time.



Sponsors can either just donate a fixed amount, or wait until after the 
event, to sponsor me for the number of contacts claimed. I made just over 
2000 last year.



To add an extra bit of fun, we're offering a copy of BCAB's latest CD, "Top 
Cat, White Tie and Tails" to the person who makes the closest guess of my 
claimed score - one guess per person.



13 September, was the 40th anniversary of my receiving my amateur radio 
licence, so I really intend to make a splash this time! Can I count on your
