Thank you very much for this David. I used the incorrect terminology when I
referred to it as the Task Bar so my apologies to Chris. It is of course the
Quick Launch area.

Bar
Hi Eleanor,
In Windows XP, the programs that appear in the quick launch toolbar next
to the start button are shortcuts in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
where USERNAME is your username. So, you just need to copy and paste
shortcuts to internet explorer and outlook express to that folder. You may
have these shortcuts on your desktop, but if not you can just copy the
relevent menu items from the all programs menu.
The one potential snag is that sometimes the length of the quick launch
tool bar is too small to show all the programs. I'm not sure how to change
it's length using the keyboard.
David.

How do I do this please? I have the NC10 and I do not have any programmes
on
the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes I like if I am in a
Word
document just to go down and open either of the said programmes without
having
to minamise the word document or to go through the Start Menu.#
