To change it back do this key sequence:

Alt+v, v, g.

The reason it is still showing unread is that you have several messages in 
one bunch, so to say, and although you have read one of them, there are 
still others in the bunch that are unread.

Hi again,  I've also just noticed that when I read a message and come out of 
it, it now continues to show as unread.  What's going on there, and how can 
I make that feature work properly again.
