Terry, Brian,
Not sure if this is what you need, but you can get Outlook's calendar to
display days of the week as part of the date by changing the long date
format to include it, so something like "dddd, dd MMMM yyyy". To do
this, go to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, use the
Customize button on the Regional Options page to open another dialogue
and move to the Date page. You'll need to OK out of both dialogues
before the information appears on screen.
I've found this to work on some PCs, but on others it upsets JAWS to the
point that it's better to undo the change - I don't know why this should
be.

Hi Terry
Yes, this is always one of the problems with the calendar with Jaws, and
that is not FS's fault. Unbelievably, Microsoft only put the day of the
week into the MsAA in America and not other regions, so they have to
rely on a grid which is outside the main appointment details window. I
am writing this to the list because, as Terry says, his days of the week
are not even visible on the computer display even though he has the day
view selected. If anyone has any idea how to bring them back it would
be good to hear about that.
For Office 2007, in an atempt to circumvent this, I have written some
scripts which force Jaws to work out the day of the week based upon the
date that it finds but it should not be necessary to do that., But it is
a guaranteed method of working.

Generally I think the Outlook Calendar is great with JAWS however my
issue relates to the fact that I cannot work out how to get the actual
day displayed on the screen in Outlook 2003.
However from an accessibility perspective providing all windows options
colours etc are set correctly with JAWS 8 it's good I think.
Regretably not the case if you intend to switch to office 2007 as
currently FS are not supporting the calendar here.

This seems to have been another one of those things that has been a real
problem for some people and not others. Personally, I've been working
with my own and other peoples Outlook calanders for years and never had
this problem.
The one I did have, that has also now gone away was with the Day View.
I have to say that the Outlook calander now seems as good as I could ask
for.

The latest jaws fix sorry I mean update now allows access to shared
calendars I haven't had to use it extensively as yet but certainly it
seems to work in as far as you can review other peoples appointments
without any cursor switching.

Hi folks,
I am looking for a program that will allow different people to run a
diary/calendar in a shared folder so that we can each update the
appointments and I no longer book holiday when I'm supposed to be doing
something important that someone didn't bother to tell me.
Any ideas?
Karl
