[bcab] Re: Open office query

Hi,

I had to use Open Office briefly about a year ago, so this will be
with a somewhat older version of JAWS, either 9 or 8.something I can't
quite remember. 'out of the box', open office won't work or at least
didn't work at all. There were a few steps that I  now can't remember
that I had to do to make it work at all with JAWS, and I went back to
MS office 2003 the next day it was hopeless and really slowed down my
working and some bits just didn't seem to work with JAWS at all.

I don't know however if anything has improved since then, but I guess
support for MS office is wo well established with JAWS that when
accessing open office it seemed so amazingly laboured to try and
perform the most simplist of word-processing functions...
