Hi David.
I certainly think that if it is assumed that Office 2007 has become the only
straight forward option for new computer buyers then it would be interesting
to know what people think of the interface. Is it really harder to use than
versions of Office that have used a menu system going back to the first
versions of Word for Windows and even to later versions of Word for Dos? In
many workplaces Office 2007 is still not used so does anyone have a positive
outlook on the ribbon bar? another very important issue is how have people
found the office 2007 interface who are new to computers? its a
ccomplicated issue because the ribbon bar is not part of the interface used
throughout windows so there is a serious inconsistency issue.
Regards
Graham

Personally I completely and absolutely agree. I stuck with 2007 for about 3
weeks and absolutely loathed it, eventually moving back and using 2003
again. I remember the relief when I eventually had 2003 working fine as it
was before. I am by no means a computer luddite and consider myself a
competent PC user but for me personally the 2007 interface was quite simply
dreadful.
I suppose one day I will have to return an grapple with tabbing and shift
tabbing for dozens of times through the ribbons but I will defer that dark
day for as long as possible .

Richard,
I'd say stay away from 2007. I've had it little over 2 months and still
can't quite crack it. I find I'm hitting google daily to find out what to
do. You need to really get to know the shortcuts once you have 2007 as the
menu bar is far from helpful.
Others may disagree, however, I use office relentlessly and have found 2007
has really slowed my productivity. This may be due to getting used to new
software but 2 months for an updated package seems excessive to me.
HTH
Roger

Hi, Currently using JFW 11 and Office 2003. Have the chance to
install 2007 and wondered if this worked as well as 2003 yet?
Additionally, can one keep both versions on the PC?
Thanks.
