[bcab] Re: New TV licensing website is broken for screen reader users?

I have just had a go, and can't access the drop down lists either. I only
have JAWS, so tried routing JAWS to PC, but it didn't show me anything other
than the list option I was on. I do find it annoying when developers say
they have improved a website, only to find that it is not friendly for
screenreaders.

I've since looked at them too. I certainly couldn't get them to work
either. Its worrying as I've seen this type of drop down appearing in a
system I have to use at work and haven't found a way around it yet.

Has anyone else had a chance to look? They don't show as a combo box but as
a read only edit field. If you press enter on it it opens up a drop down
list below of the options to choose, but I haven't yet been able to select
one by using either the enter key, JAWS left click, or by clicking with the
cursor routing buttons on my Braille display.

The contact us and tv licence amendment portions of the site are where I
found these.

Hi Martin,

Which area of the site are you finding these drop down lists?

The home page looks fine but doesn't have any drop downs.

        HI all.

        sorry for the cross posting.

is the new UK TV licensing website broken for screen reader users?

using jaws for windows v11, and v 10, drop down lists don't work.
Nor do they with System access latest version which is "System Access
3.0.155".

        any thoughts?
