And to cap it all, here's what they say at:
http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/accessibility.aspx
George.
Accessibility
Making TV Licensing accessible to all
Our approach to accessibility is to ensure that you can easily access
the information you require, as well as get in touch with us in a way
that suits your needs.
We are working hard at TV Licensing to provide services that are
helpful to all our customers, across all our communication channels.
For example, we provide materials in different languages and in
alternative formats such as Braille, large print and audio.
When we built this website, we made sure that the navigation
throughout the site works in a consistent way. We use a standard web
font to make it easy for everyone to read, and in most cases the font
size can be adjusted using the standard browser options to match your
needs.
We also have a range of other services to improve access which are
outlined in the BBC's equality schemes. You can find more details
here:

If you need further guidance on website accessibility, you might find
the following BBC site useful:

I know it's no consolation, but you might be interested to know the
same
controls are problematic - at least on my PC - with Windows 7,
Internet
Explorer 8 and no access technology. When I Tab to or click on the
drop-down list controls, the list of options appears so far to the
left
that half of it is off screen. I wonder, therefore, if they will be
getting complaints from other users also!

users?
I've written to the TV licensing people via their contact us form,
choosing totally inaccurate options in the hope that someone may look
into this.
Here is the text of my enquiry. Maybe others might do the same?
*** Start of text ***
I hope you can help. My query is not regarding a license for over
74s,
and it is not relating to whether I need a TV license. I would
therefore be grateful if you could pass this message on to the
relevant
department.
I am a blind person attempting to use your web site with JAWS for
Windows v11 which is a leading screen reader application, latest
version. Since the changes that have been made to your web site, I am
no longer able to choose relevant options from the drop down lists on
your site. Several other blind people have tried this using both JAWS
and Window Eyes which is the other leading screen reader application.
Thus, the new improved site which you have is no longer usable by
blind
and partially sighted people.
Please contact me as soon as possible regarding this. Email

Dare I suggest it would be a good item for "In Touch"?
And you can be sure Peter White's researchers will know exactly who to
contact for maximum effect.

Can someone make a digest of all these messages, and maybe we can send
them to tv licencing to underline the fact they've screwed up?

Hi Martin
Tried the Contact Us area and couldn't do anything with it.
I am using the latest version of Window-Eyes, Internet Explorer 8 and
Windows XP.
