Hello
Has anyone heard any reports about the Windows version of Untangle? I was
recommended it for protection of a web server (LAMP) I am setting up and see
there is a Windows version. I'm interested as my OCR server (Win2K3) is
currently unprotected and I will shortly be networking it.
Regards
Tony

Hi, George
My employers use (and have done for a few years now), Sophos Antivirus - I
can get more details if you wish.
They have it customised to scan every hour and seems to have minimal effect
on machine performance as well as screenreader usage!

Subject: [bcab] Network Server Anti-virus Software
A question for anyone involved it network administration, if I may?
We're looking at replacing McAfee Guardian Exchange, which (allegedly)
protects our Exchange Server 2003, and McAfee VirusScan on our Workstations,
etc..
I'd be interested in knowing what others are using to protect their Windows
2003 servers, especially where and when heavy loadings are involved.
It's fairly obvious that McAfee is affecting the performance of both
Exchange 2003 and also Sage Line 50 (the 2009 version) quite badly, and this
appears to be a quite common complaint.
Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative they and their
employers are happy with, which is effective, but less intrusive? (Forget
Norton)
